The Agricultural Research Institute of Ontario is a corporate body reporting directly to the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
Up to 15 members plus one ex-officio, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada are appointed by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs who also appoints the Director of Research from the Ministry.

He continued by saying the OFA looks forward to working with Dombrowsky on a closer level, as she has demonstrated a vast knowledge and understanding of agriculture, since she was first elected MPP in 1999 and re-elected in 2003.
In an official release, Dombrowsky said she is thrilled to have the opportunity to represent all aspects of agriculture, because it is a very important issue for her.
In addition to being appointed the new minister of agriculture, food and rural affairs, Dombrowsky will be sitting on the Priorities and Planning Committee of Cabinet.
