The Ontario Police College (OPC) is located just east of Aylmer, Ontario, in the farm rich area of South Western Ontario. Ontario, along with New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Quebec, is one of the four original provinces of Canada when the nation was formed on July 1, 1867 by the British North America Act.
Ontario is bounded on the north by Hudson Bay and James Bay, on the east by Quebec, on the west by Manitoba, and on the south by the U.S. states of Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York.
Ontario shares with bordering states, namely Lakes Superior, Huron (which includes Georgian Bay), Erie, and Ontario (for which the province is named; the name Ontario itself is a corruption of the Iroquois word "Onitariio" meaning "beautiful lake" or "Kanadario," variously translated as "beautiful water").

The Ontario Police College is situated on 121.5 hectares of rural land five kilometers northeast of the town of Aylmer, Ontario, and 190 kilometers west of Toronto.
