Neutral Milk Hotel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (1437 words)
It was released by Merge Records in 1996.
Although it met with scant response from the general public when it was released, the recording has continued to gain momentum in indie music circles and has become a cult classic, selling well over 100,000 copies according to Merge Records.
There were plans to release a Neutral Milk Hotel rarities album on the Orange Twin label; however, after an announcement in 2005 on the Orange Twin website claiming that Jeff Mangum had in fact eventually decided against the project, it is unclear if this will ever happen.
Everything Is (EP) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (477 words)
Everything Is was the first recording mass-released by Neutral Milk Hotel, which at this point was largely still an outlet for the songwriting of Jeff Mangum, instead of a fully formed band.
The recording was originally the second release on the fledgling Seattle label Cher Doll Records in 1994.
The British label Fire Records re-released the record in 1995, on CD and 7", with the 7" retaining the same A and B sides, and the CD version featuring an extra track, Aunt Eggma Blowtorch, a five minute sound collage by Mangum.
