An Orangist was a person who supported the election of Prince William II's posthumously-born son William III to stadtholder.


The Orangists were often at odds with the anti-stadtholder Republicans. Members of the Orangist faction included Dutch Vice-Admiral Johan Evertsen.

But there are also Orangists in Belgium, especially in Flanders that never really wanted to be separated from the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
