Organisation was an experimental "Krautrock" band, that was the predecessor of Kraftwerk. In addition to the founding members of Kraftwerk, Florian Schneider-Esleben and Ralf Hütter, Organisation consisted of Basil Hammoudi, Butch Hauf and Alfred Mönicks (alias Fred Monicks). Peter Martini and Paul Lorenz were sometimes also included in Organisation. Krautrock is a generic name for the experimental bands who appeared in Germany in the early 1970s. ... Their only album Tone Float, produced and engineered by Konrad "Conny" Plank, was released on the RCA Victor label in the UK in 1970. Available in Germany only as an import, sales were poor and RCA opted to drop the band shortly afterwards, at which point they disbanded. This obscure LP by German band Organisation sold few copies on its UK-only release in 1970, and might have been forgotten forever had two of the band members, Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, not gone on to change the face of 20th century music with their next group... Following their contribution to the Marconi Point compilation a couple of years which was to raise funds for the Edinburgh based ACE organisation, the band now put on a fund raising live performance.
There was a support band for the night, but they were a token rock band that did nothing interesting and didn't have anything to do with Zoviet France or how the event was advertised.
This meant that there was a fair amount of disinterest shown towards the band, and having been advertised as a "punk" gig to a degree there were one or two moments of hostility towards the band (which they probably were unaware of).
