Orientale (also Oriental) (formerly Haute-Zaire) is a province of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It lies in the north-east of the country, and its provincial capital is Kisangani. It borders Equateur province to the west, Kasai-Oriental to the south-west, Maniema to the south, and Nord-Kivu to the south-east. It borders on Angola in the southwest and west, on Cabinda and the Republic of the Congo in the west, on the Central African Republic and Sudan in the north, on Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania in the east, and on Zambia in the southeast.
