Orizaba is a city in Veracruz, Mexico. It is located 20 km from Córdoba, Veracruz, and Ixtaczoquitlán, on Federal Highways 180 and 190. Orizaba was established near the Río Blanco and the Pico de Orizaba, the highest mount in Mexico. During the Colonia, Orizaba became an important city. In January 27th, 1774, the spanish king Carlos III conceded the villa status to Orizaba, and in november 29th, 1830 Orizaba was declared a city.
