Ornament is a relatively new indie/electronica artist. In terms of the sound, Ornament uses highly-processed samples, mainly taken from existing indie and folk tracks. More recently, Ornament has started to add vocals onto the tracks. This is mainly as an attempt to distance the project from similar artists like Four Tet and The Books. All of Ornament's releases, so far, have been distributed for free on the internet. The reason for the material being self-released is due to the "DIY approach" to music-sharing, believing that all music should be held freely in the public domain. Further to these aforementioned releases, Ornament has remixed material for A Band, Yesterday, Aaron Kelly and Santa Dog.
