The Orono Crown Lands were originally purchased by the Province as a tree nursery, to be operated by the Ministy of Natural Resources (and its predecessor Ministries).
We are volunteers from the Orono area in Clarington, and we assist the Ministry in the management and maintenance of the property.
We are concerned that it be accessible to the public, and to that end, we have improved parking facilities, trails and access roads.
Orono is a town (population approximately 1800) in the Municipality of Clarington, Ontario, Canada.
Most of Orono's youth residents who attend public school move onto The Pines and Clarke High School, located just off the Highway 115 on the border of Newcastle, both are two of the oldest active Middle and Secondary schools in the area.
Orono is surrounded by several pastoral hamlets, such as Kirby, Kendal, Newtonville, Leskard, Starkville; and larger towns like Newcastle and Bowmanville.
