St. Ulrich is a small town of 4,500 inhabitants in northern Italy, in the region of South Tyrol. It is placed in the valley of Gröden - Val Gardena within the Dolomites, a mountain chain that is part of the Alps. It is also known as Ortisei in Italian and Urtijëi in Ladin, a very isolated language of northern Italy.
