In Greek mythology, Otrera (or Otrere) was a Queen of the Amazons, the consort of Ares as well as his daughter, and mother of Hippolyte, Antiope, Lysippe, Melanippe and Penthesilea.
Otrera is sometimes considered the mythological founder of the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus, which was closely connected with Amazons.
She is also sometimes considered the founder of the Amazon nation, though many myths place the first Amazons much earlier.
