The PFY or "Pimply-Faced Youth" is the BOFH's apprentice in the Bastard Operator From Hell stories by Simon Travaglia. The PFY's name is Steven [1] (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2001/10/08/arise_sir_bofh/)[2] (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/12/10/bofh_2004_episode_41/).


The term "PFY" is now often used for a junior system administrator apprenticed to a more experienced sysadmin. The term is not as well-known as BOFH.
