Military abbreviation for "Petroleum Oil Lubricants", generally refers to all flammable liquids and solids. On most military installations, units in charge of flammable materials are called "POL". These units are responsible for the safe storage, distribution and disposal of fuels, oils, and on some installations, cryogenic liquids.
