Pacific Coliseum is an indoor arena at 100 North Renfrew Street in Vancouver, British Columbia. Completed in 1967 at the site of the Pacific National Exhibition, the arena seats 16,150 for ice hockey. The coliseum is currently home to the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League. The Giants were chosen to host the 2007 Memorial Cup here in May of that year. It has previously been home of the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL from 1970-1995 and the Vancouver Blazers of the WHA from 1973-1975. It hosted WCW New Blood Rising in 2000. The two most notable sporting events to take place at the Pacific Coliseum were both hockey games. The Coliseum hosted Game 4 of the 1972 Summit Series on September 8, with the U.S.S.R. beating Canada 5-3. WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) returned to the Pacific Coliseum in 2002 after WWE was banned from performing at GM Place due to several fights and incidents that occurred during a taping of WWE Raw. Because of that, WWE has not brought a televised event to the Vancouver area since 2001 and only perform house shows (non-televised) events once a year and they usually occur in May (since 2003). The Pacific Coliseum is the largest building within the Hastings Park complex and provides a magnificent setting for events as diverse as ice shows, boxing, basketball, hockey, concerts, circuses, large assemblies, and trade and consumer shows.
The Pacific Coliseum accommodates 15,713 in permanent seating, with provision for 2,000 temporary seats on the floor for concerts and spectator sports.
For sporting and other public events, the seating capacities in the Pacific Coliseum arena range from 4,200 in mini concert stage to 17,000 in the round full concert or sports seating.

Around 1915, as they were toiling in the Pacific Coast League, the Vancouver Millionaires played in the Denman Street Arena, the first building in Western Canada to have artificial ice.
In 1964 at the Western Hockey League's annual meeting in Seattle, Stafford Smythe, former President of the Toronto Maple Leafs, revealed that his Canucks were willing to erect an $8,000,000 Coliseum, seating 20,000, in downtown Vancouver as a member of a new six-team NHL division.
In 1967, Vancouver became the envy of other hockey towns when the Pacific Coliseum opened and the Vancouver Canucks of the Western Hockey League moved in.
