Paiania , also, rarely, Paeania or Peania (Greek : Παιανία), is a town in Greece east of the Hymettus and Athens and is a suburb of Athens . Its population is about 11,000. Until the late 2oth century , the area was known as Liopessi. Half ot the municipality and the western part is the rocky landscape of mount Hymettus .
Paiania has schools, a lyceum, a gymnasium, banks, a post office and squares (plateies ).
Agriculture was probably the dominant industry from the 5th century until the 20th century . Currently, the largest facility is a Greek television broadcasting building privately owned by Teletypos or Telepress and sometimes Buena Vista is Mega Channel which is located in the east. It is connected with GR-91 , Attiki Odos (GR-91), Spata, and Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport .
