Paisley is a census-designated place located in Lake County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 734.

Geography

Paisley is located at 28°59'15" North, 81°32'13" West (28.987370, -81.536972)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 8.9 km² (3.4 mi²). 8.5 km² (3.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 4.37% water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 734 people, 317 households, and 217 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 86.4/km² (223.7/mi²). There are 396 housing units at an average density of 46.6/km² (120.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 97.41% White, 0.00% African American, 0.68% Native American, 0.54% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.23% from other races, and 0.14% from two or more races. 1.63% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 317 households out of which 24.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.3% are married couples living together, 10.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.5% are non-families. 24.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.32 and the average family size is 2.73.

In the CDP the population is spread out with 22.8% under the age of 18, 4.6% from 18 to 24, 25.9% from 25 to 44, 24.0% from 45 to 64, and 22.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 43 years. For every 100 females there are 97.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.6 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP is $29,000, and the median income for a family is $38,500. Males have a median income of $29,732 versus $26,111 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $12,798. 17.4% of the population and 14.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 21.1% of those under the age of 18 and 15.8% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
