Daylight Savings Time

In 2002 it was reported by The News International of Pakistan (and confirmed by the Pakistan Government Tourist Bureau) that "In order to make maximum use of daylight and to save energy, the cabinet decided to adopt the daylight saving scheme. It has been decided to advance the clocks by one hour on the night between the first Saturday and Sunday of April and revert to the original position on 15th October each year. This system has been adopted for one year only on experimental basis." The News International (ISSN 1563-9479) is the largest English language newspaper in Pakistan, published simultaneously from Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. ...


In 2003 it is reported that DST ends at the end of the first Saturday in October at 23:00 PST because it was an easy date and the day after it was a Sunday. This system has been abolished and it has not used DST since then.
