Pambiche is a Cuban joint, a hole in the wall in a neighborhoody area on the northeast side of Glisan.
On the inside, Pambiche is a little cramped, and a loud mix of colors, but it smells so good in the room that everyone seems to be in a good mood.
Overall, Pambiche’s bustle can sometimes be frustrating; when it’s crowded, there’s really not a lot of room to move, but in the summertime the outdoor benches create an extra dining area.

"Pambiche" is Spanglish for Palm Beach, a name applied to a merengue-foxtrot hybrid developed for polyrhythmic-impaired American soldiers during the US occupation of the Dominican Republic from 1916-24.
Pambiche's are hot and crispy, the croquetas filled with ham or chicken, the frituras with corn or squash.
At Pambiche, the tuber is fried and tossed with a garlic sauce; the result is sort of like a moist, flavorful plate of home fries, but different and better.
