The Samiti is elected for 5 years and is headed by the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman.
Departments There are seven departments in the Samiti:
- General Administration
- Finance
- Public Works
- Agriculture
- Health
- Education

There is an officer for every department. A government appointed Block Development Officer is the secretary to the Samiti and the chief of its administration.
Functions - Implement schemes for the development of agriculture.
- Provide facilities for public health and education.
- Repair roads.
- Encourage local industries.
Sources of Income The main source of income of the Panchayat Samiti are grants from the Zilla Parishad and the State Government.
