Award-winning musician Shen Pangeng has adapted a range of western and traditional Chinese music for a free afternoon performance featuring an erhu, a traditional bowed two-string instrument with origins in ancient China.
Pangeng, a graduate of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, is a master of the erhu, which enjoys the same popularity in China as the violin does in the west.
Born in China, Pangeng migrated to Australia in 1989.
