The Schönholz memorial, Pankow Pankow [ˈpaŋkoː] is a borough of Berlin. In 2001, it was merged with the former boroughs of Prenzlauer Berg and Weißensee; the resulting borough retained the name Pankow. It encompasses an area of 103.07 km² and has, as of 2003, about 347,100 inhabitants. Its current mayor is Matthias Koehne (SPD).
