Encyclopedia > Pasquitan, Duke of Brittany

The count Pasquitan of Vannes (died 877), was duke of Brittany, from 874 to his death. He became ruler of Brittany after the murder of his father-in-law, Duke Saloman. His accession was disputed with Gurvand of Rennes, son-in-law of the first Duke of Brittany, Nominoe. Pasquitan was son of count Ridoredh of Vannes and brother of Alan, the Great, who succeeded him.
