The Story: Peter Petruski was once a humble scientist, who stumbled upon the creation of a super strong adhesive. Deciding that his new creation would best serve him as means by which to become a master criminal, Petruski began calling himself Paste Pot Pete, and embarked on a crime spree. Petruski's plans were cut short, though, due to the intervention of Johnny Storm, the high flying Human Torch of the Fantastic Four. Following his Initial failure, Petruski regrouped and formed an alliance with the would-be master criminal the Wizard, though the Human Torch again halted Petruski's schemes, and Paste Pot Pete and the Wizard were sent to prison. A short time later, the super-team, the Avengers were placed into a fierce battle between the World War II era villain Baron Zemo and his newly formed Masters of Evil. With the aid of his powerful Adhesive X, it seemed Zemo would defeat the Avengers, though with the timely aid a solvent created by Petruski, the heroes prevailed, and Paste Pot Pete was granted early release. Despite his good deed, however, Petruski soon returned to crime, and with new weaponry attacked his old foe the Human Torch and his colleague the Thing, with poor results. After several defeats, Petruski decided it was in his best interests to work with others, than alone, and with his one-time ally the Wizard, formed a team called the Frightful Four, the antithesis of the Fantastic Four. Along with the Sandman and the Inhuman Medusa, the Frightful Four took on the FF, and Petruski made the wise decision to rename himself the Trapster, and would never again use the name Paste Pot Pete. Despite his new alliance with the Wizard and his Frightful Four, the Trapster still found time to pursue solo criminal acts against heroes such as Captain America, Daredevil and Spider-Man, but his frequent defeats often brought him back to the Frightful Four. In the years to follow, the Trapster became something of a joke around the Marvel Universe, never really given much respect and not really looked upon as much of a challenge by heroes, who really had no problem defeating Trapster again and again. This led to the Trapster looking up the Sandman, who had left crime and became a legitimate superhero. Sandman tried to get the Trapster a position in the criminal hunting Wild Pack, of which Sandman was a member, but Trapster's greed got the better of him and he returned to crime. Having hit his lowest ebb, the Trapster tried going after thugs who had mocked him in the past for petty revenge schemes, a plan soon halted by Spider-Man, who underestimated the Trapster and was actually beaten by Petruski. With a renewed desire towards success, Trapster updated his armor and weaponry and became a hired thug, soon sent after Spider-Man as part of a plot by the evil Friends of Humanity. When Norman Osborn put the plans of the FOH to a stop, Osborn brought Trapster into his employ and hired him to frame Spider-Man by suffocating a street thug named Joey Z "webbing". Spider-Man was eventually cleared of any murder charges and the Trapster came forward about his involvement, with the possibility of reformation for the Trapster ahead. Whatever promise might have been ahead for the Trapster, was lost when he was freed from prison and returned to the company of the Wizard and the Sandman, who had been brainwashed by the Wizard into returning to crime. With his fellow members of the Frightful Four, the Trapster again returned to menace the Fantastic Four, though he was later taken by the mysterious Gideon Trust and sent into the Negative Zone for research purposes. Peter and the rest of the Nega-explorers are trapped in the Negative Zone. Trying to learn how to survive and somehow find a way back home, which the Wizard eventually provided. Once again joining the Wizard's Frightful Four. The Trapster was eventually punished when he tried to kill the Wizard's daughter, Cole who was trying to help the Human Torch. Peter was placed in an endless time point where he keeps disingrating forever.
