Patrick Jay Toomay (born May 17, 1948 in Pomona, California) was an American football defensive end in the NFL for four different teams. He played college football for Vanderbilt University and was drafted in the sixth round of the 1970 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. He is the author of two books about professional football: The Crunch, an irreverent look at life with the Landry era Cowboys, and the novel On Any Given Sunday. An article about his involvement in Oliver Stone’s film of the same title was included in Houghton Mifflin’s Best American Sportswriting 2000.
