Professor Syed Ahmed Shah Patras Bokhari (18981958) was a Pakistani educationist, essayist, broadcaster and diplomat. Before the formation of Pakistan in 1947, he was the Director General, All India Radio. Primarily, he was a Professor of English Literature and, thus, served as the Principal of Government College Lahore. The famous Urdu poet, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, and the leader of free verse in Urdu, Noon Meem Rashid, were among his famous students. After the formation of Pakistan, he served as the permanent representative of Pakistan in the United Nations from 194952.
