Patrick Allen McLoughlin (born 30 November1957, Staffordshire) is a British politician. He is a Conservativemember of Parliament, for Derbyshire West. Previously he had been a miner. He served as a government and opposition whip under John Major and later as Oppostition Deputy Chief Whip until he was appointed Opposition Chief Whip by David Cameron, the newly elected Conservative Leader on December 6th 2005.
