Offer managed a 3.2% increase in his vote[1], which was helped by the gains of the Liberal Democrat candidate, Mia Jones, who secured more than a 7% increase; however this increase was on a previously very small vote share. In November 2006 the Chester Chronicle [3] reported that Offer had lost the confidence of his Association over his poor judgement.
