Peach Bottom Township is a township located in York County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 4,412.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 76.7 km² (29.6 mi²). 75.7 km² (29.2 mi²) of it is land and 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.28% water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 4,412 people, 1,528 households, and 1,216 families residing in the township. The population density is 58.3/km² (151.0/mi²). There are 1,852 housing units at an average density of 24.5/km² (63.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 96.60% White, 1.99% African American, 0.36% Native American, 0.32% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.09% from other races, and 0.63% from two or more races. 0.57% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 1,528 households out of which 42.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.1% are married couples living together, 6.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.4% are non-families. 16.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.87 and the average family size is 3.20.

In the township the population is spread out with 29.2% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 33.7% from 25 to 44, 21.3% from 45 to 64, and 9.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 106.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 106.5 males.
