  • A peer is a person of the same age, status, or ability as another specified person. See also peer group.
  • Peer is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Limburg. On January 1st, 2004 Peer had a total population of 15,607 (7,932 males and 7,675 females). The total area is 86.95 kmē which gives a population density of 179.49 inhabitants per kmē.
  • In computer networking, a peer is a networking endpoint that participates both as client and server. In peer-to-peer networking, this implies that the networking endpoint both hosts and transmits/processes data.
  • Peer (short for peer-e-tariqat, or "leader of the order") is also the title given to the head of Sufi orders.
