The People's National Party of Belize is a young political movement based in Punta Gorda, Toledo District, Belize, which has declared candidacy for the 2008 general elections. The Party Leader is Wil Maheia, environmentalist; he will run in Toledo East and farmer Dionisio Choc, Toledo West. Other candidates are being recruited. Finances are derived from campaign contributions and Maheia's personal funds.


The Party's platform is anti-corruption and presumably, pro-environment. It held its first meeting on Sunday, February 19, 2007 in San Antonio Village, Toledo District.


National Belizean Alliance

The PNP has joined a coalition of third parties contesting the 2008 general elections, known as the National Belizean Alliance (NBA). The NBA elected Maheia as leader and has been promoting itself in recent weeks.
