PeopleLikeUs is the largest, most influential group of patient advocates representing people affecting by chronic kidney disease (CKD), and the organ donation and transplantation communities.
PeopleLikeUs participants learned about the various aspects of advocacy, the need for and importance of their participation in both national and grassroots public policy initiatives, and the skills required to become persuasive and confident spokespeople.
The people I meet are, for the most part, justlike me. Fathers are concerned about the life their family will have; mothers are protective of their kids, who giggle and play justlike mine did.
