Pepingen is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises the towns of Beert, Bellingen, Bogaarden, Elingen, Heikruis and Pepingen proper. On January 1st, 2004 Pepingen had a total population of 4,331 (2,156 males and 2,175 females). The total area is 36.05 kmē which gives a population density of 120.15 inhabitants per kmē.

The municipality of Pepingen (in French, Pepenghien; 4,347 inhabitants on 31 December 2004; 3,604 ha) is located 15 km south-west of Brussels and 5 km north-west of Halle.
In the Middle Ages, Pepingen was located on the border between the Counties of Hainaut and Leuven, the latter being incorporating later into the Duchy of Brabant.
