Pescara Grand Prix - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (233 words)
The Pescara Grand Prix is the longest circuit ever used in the F1 World Championship, at just under 16 miles.
The circuit started on the roads in the outskirts of the town, the course followed the coastline, until heading inland toward the villages Spoltore and Villa Raspa.
The circuit closed for good in 1961 as it was impossible for race organisers to guarantee safety.

Pescara was a triangular circuit which involved two ultra-fast legs and a base that was both twisty and hilly.
The circuit was used by all of the major car manufactures in Italy to test their cars and a victory in the Coppa Acerbo was considered a victory above all others.
The Mellaha circuit home of the Tripoli Grand Prix, used to be one of the fastest if not finest in the world.
