PETERMARSHALL: These pictures - Time say they were shot by a student journalist the morning after the killings - show the victims and what remains of their homes in the town of Haditha.
PETERMARSHALL: Haditha was first occupied by American soldiers in April 2003, but it's in the heart of the Sunni triangle and the US has never really known peace there.
PETERMARSHALL: As for what happened at Haditha in November, the outcome of that investigation is awaited, but the 15 victims have now been identified - names to add to the death toll three years after the war in Iraq.
