Sullivan is the son of Peter J. Sullivan and Ann (Donovan) Sullivan of Kingston, New Hampshire.


Sullivan is a graduate of the University of New Orleans and the University of Arkansas School of Law. He served for ten years as a member of the US Army Reserve and the Army National Guard, including five years of service as a commissioned officer.


In 2003, Sullivan was named one of the top one hundred rising stars in the Democratic Party by the Democratic Leadership Council. The Democratic Leadership Council is a non-profit corporation[1] that argues that the United States Democratic Party should shift away from traditionally populist positions. ...


As a member of the New Hampshire House, Sullivan has been heavily involved in efforts to strengthen the state's ethics laws. He has also been a leading advocate for victims of crime, authoring the Crime Victim Employment Leave Act.


Sullivan for a time was a candidate for U.S. Congress in New Hampshire's first district. He withdrew from the race in July of 2006, citing health concerns.

St. Peter's - Sullivan (419 words)
The roots of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sullivan are sunk deeply and can be retraced to the years 1858 and 1859 when families moved from Preston, Ontario (originating from West Prussia and Mecklenburg) and located on the fourth concession of the township of Sullivan near what is now known as the Mannerow cemetery.
St Peter's first resident pastor was Pastor G. Schambach and during his pastorate here, on October 20, 1874, he was married in the newly-erected log church.
Peter's log church stood six-tenths of a kilometre east of our present stone structure, which was built in 1881.
