Petrer is a town located in the comarca of El Vinalopó Mitjà, in the province of Alicante, Spain. It has an area of 104.2 km2 and, according to the 2003 census, a total population of 31,255 inhabitants and a population density of 299.66 inhab/km2. Petrer joins together with the city of Elda to form a conurbation with over 85,000 inhabitants.
