E-Budo.com - Ong-Bak/ Phanom Yeerum (693 words)
The story is pretty standard, but Yeerum's fighting style is a dynamic combination of Muay Thai and Chinese Kung-Fu (as a guess), and has a fairly unique feel to it, compared to everything else out there these days.
Yeerum is young enough to make a big name for himself.
I remember waiting for the "action" to start, and seeing Phanom knock out this guy with a fast knee-kick to the head (if you don't know what this is, you'll have to take a look).
Self-study and classroom lessons based on newspaper feature stories (1432 words)
Phanom Yeerum is so naturally well-built and so well trained that he could become a new Asian star.
PhanomÂ’s character starts out promising to be non-violent but seems to enjoy fighting as the story develops.
Because Phanom is better at action than acting, the director uses him in a simple storyline that takes the character from his upcountry home to Bangkok in search of the stolen Buddha image, where he meets a fellow villager.
