Phyllostachys (3022 words)
Phyllostachys species usually prefer full sun, and tend to be intolerant of heavy shade.
Phyllostachys species in the less than 11/2' and 11/2-3' sizes are normally shipped in 6" pots.
Similar to Phyllostachys aureosulcata in most respects, but the culms of this distinctly ornamental bamboo are golden yellow with a green groove, and the leaves are sometimes variegated with white stripes.

Phyllostachys plants have a prominent groove, called a sulcus, that runs along the length of each segment (or internode).
