Pialligo (postcode: 2609) is a rural suburb of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia. The name Pialligo has been used for the area since at least 1820, and is probably of aboriginal origin. Streets in Pialligo are named with aboriginal words.
Beltana Road in Pialigo is home to many of Canberra's nurseries. Canberra International Airport is located adjacent to Pialligo accross Pialligo Avenue.
A second territory, at Jervis Bay, was acquired from NSW in 1915.
In true Australian tradition, the grass is imported lawn mix, which requires gargantuan quantities of water and weedkiller to keep it green and glowing.
On the lower slopes of Black Mountain, behind the Australian National University, the beautiful 50 hectare (123 acre) botanic gardens are devoted to Australian flora.
