Pier 1 Imports, Inc. is a Fort Worth, Texas-based retailer specialising in home furnishings, especially furniture, kitchen furnishings, bedroom accessories, and diningware. The chain operates 1172 stores under the names Pier 1 Imports, The Pier, Cargokids, and Pier 1 Kids in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. Pier 1 Imports also has an international merchandising deal with Sears.

The company was founded in San Mateo, California, and its stock is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol PIR.

Famous spokespeople for the company, seen largely in broadcast commercials, include tv show Cheers alumni Kirstie Alley and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Thom Filicia.

The company regularly rotates their fragrance (candle, incense and room spray) collections and has several distinct flavors such as tuscan herb, rose and "blendables" - more than one complementary flavor together.

Two stores within the US feature a much larger selection of items, including expanded linen and furniture choices. One is located in Las Vegas, Nevada and the other recently (2004) opened in Columbus, Ohio. Within the company these are referred to as '888' items - a stock code.
