The biggest ships ever constructed were four supertankers built in France at the end of the seventies, having a 555.000 DWT and a 414 meters length. They launched from the chantiers de l'Atlantique at Saint Nazaire and were replaced in this title by only one ship, after modification: the Knock Nevis. A supertanker is an unofficial nickname that applies to a certain class of tanker ship built to transport very large quantities of liquids; in practice this typically refers to crude oil. ...
