Encyclopedia > Plaguelands

The Plaguelands are the sections of the continent Azeroth in the Warcraft universe which are still controlled by the Scourge. They are divided into eastern and western portions, and are ruled by the powerful lich, Kel'Thuzad.

In the MMO game World Of Warcraft, the Plaguelands are the highest level zones in the game, and players must be at level 56 and above to even stand a chance against the powerful undead minions that roam the land. The Plaguelands are also home to two of the toughest instanced dungeons in the game; Stratholme and Scholomance.

Plaguelands - WoWWiki, the Warcraft wiki (250 words)
Early in the Third War, the northern nation of Lordaeron, sovereignty of the Eastern Kingdoms, was ravaged by the Plague of Undeath, which turned a majority of its citizens into members of the undead and turned the lands into the dreaded Plaguelands.
A small resistance, led by Prince Arthas and Uther Lightbringer of the Silver Hand, were able to destroy the infected granaries and halted the spreading of the Plague.
To this day, the Scourge continue to corrupt the Plaguelands, spreading their Plague of Undeath from strategically placed cauldrons that taint not only the land, but the air and the wildlife as well.

Combine those two elements and strive for a more in breadth approach with the overall design and I think MXO can sustain slow term growth over a long period of time, similar to what we are currently seeing with Eve Online.
