A Plasma Pistol is a kind of attack and defence weapon used by the fictional charecter, Predator. It fires a blue orb which comes directly from the Predators energy supply. It has appeared in the films Predator, Predator 2 and Alien vs. Predator. It has also apeared in The games Aliens vs. Predator, Aliens vs. Predator 2 and Predator: Concrete Jungle. At present, plasma cannons, laser guns and especially phasers are only hypothetical weapons, as the amount of power needed is currently beyond the capacity of any handheld device.
The plasma would have to be stored and created in highly focused magnetic bottles, such as those used in NASA's VASIMR rocket -- in fact this design has been suggested as a potential weapon design for future human-engineered plasma weapons.
They should not be confused with plasma torches, which exist in the real world and project plasma streams a foot at most, and are used to cut metal and concrete.
The most dominant weakness of the PlasmaPistol is the fact that after shooting a fully charged shot it will overheat, leaving you vulnerable for a few seconds.
PlasmaPistols are also effective against grunts either when charged up or fired rapidly.
However it is pointless to use the Pistol against stronger Covenant Enemies such as the Elite because the speed of their Plasma Rifles are just too fast compared to the PlasmaPistol.
