Pleasant Plain is a village located in Harlan Township, Warren County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 156, down from 178 in 1990.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²). 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 156 people, 55 households, and 40 families residing in the village. The population density is 547.6/km² (1,442.0/mi²). There are 57 housing units at an average density of 200.1/km² (526.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 99.36% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.64% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 55 households out of which 45.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.4% are married couples living together, 12.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.5% are non-families. 20.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.84 and the average family size is 3.34.


In the village the population is spread out with 31.4% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 31.4% from 25 to 44, 17.9% from 45 to 64, and 10.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 116.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 105.8 males.


The median income for a household in the village is $45,833, and the median income for a family is $45,625. Males have a median income of $40,208 versus $27,000 for females. The per capita income for the village is $18,323. 7.3% of the population and 4.2% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 14.6% of those under the age of 18 and 11.1% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.


The village is in the Goshen Local School District. Mail is delivered through the Pleasant Plain post office while telephone service is provided through the Butlerville exchange.
