The Subcarpathian Voivodship (in Polishwojewództwo podkarpackie) is an administrative and local government region or voivodship of south-eastern Poland.
It was created on 1 January 1999 out of the former Rzeszow, Przemysl, Krosno and parts of Tarnow and Tarnobrzeg voivodships as a result of Local Government Reorganization Act of 1998. The voivodship's name recalls the region's geographical location by the Carpathian Mountains.
Subcarpathian Voivodship is divided onto 25 counties (powiat): 4 city counties (miasto na prawach powiatu) and 21 land counties (powiat ziemski), which are composed of 160 communes (gmina).
Podkarpackie Science – Technology Park (PSTP) will be one of tools used for improvement of competitiveness of Podkarpackie Region economy, implementation of innovative technological solutions and management of knowledge and capital resources.
The Podkarpackie Science -Technology Park is one of ten Parks, which establishment is co-financed from structural funds within The Sectoral Operational Programme "Improvement of the Competitiveness of Enterprises”.
The mission of PSTP is to stimulate multifunctional development of Podkarpackie Region based on the idea of innovation and technology transfer through synergic exploration of local scientific, research, economic and infrastructure potential.
