The land known as Point Pleasant Beach, inhabited by the Lenni Lenape Indians in 1609, was first spotted by the Sea Captain Henry Hudson from the deck of his ship, the "Half Moon" as he made his way north up the New Jersey Shore.
It ran the entire length of Point Pleasant Beach, however, the hurricane of 1938 shortened it to it's present length.
Point Pleasant NJ has remained a premier Jersey Shore Boardwalk, with a first class aquarium, rides, live entertainment and amusements.
