This continued into the 1980s, when amateur bands gained some success, but were still hampered by state regulators, who did not allow them to officially recorded.
Underground bands evolved during this time, including Pojuschie Gitary (the singing guitars) and almost the same time Mashina Vremeni and Akvarium.
This was the band that started the VIA movement, and were followed by Tcvety, Golubiye Gitary, Pesniary and Sinyaya Ptica.

Pojuschie Gitary (The Singing Guitars) seem to be the first really ROCK BAND in the USSR.
But Pojuschie were the first and undoubtely the best.
In 1975 Pojuschie Gitary released the first Russian rock opera - "Orpheus And Eurydice" which was declared the most significant music event of the year.
