The Faroese Parliament (Løgting) has 27 - 32 seats. Members are elected by popular vote on a proportional basis from the seven constituencies to serve four-year terms. For the Løgting elections there are seven electoral districts, each one comprehending asýslur, while Streymoy is divided in a northern and southern part (Tórshavn region).
