The Pomona Freeway is the assigned name of the majority of California State Route 60 (CA/SR-60) between its western terminus at the East Los Angeles Interchange complex and its junction with the Riverside Freeway, California State Route 91 (CA/SR-91) and Interstate 215 (I-215) in Riverside. The SR-60 began construction in 1962 and it was completed in 1971. Part of it (east of Ontario Freeway) used to be U.S. Highway 60 after it was replaced to Interstate 10 which was San Bernardino Freeway, and also used on Moreno Valley Freeway. The SR-60 replaced the U.S. Highway 60 in the late 1968 before entire freeway was opened in 1971.
