Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy is a Power Rangerstelevision series, the seventh to air, and features many familiar elements from previous incarnations. It is based on the Japanese Super Sentaitelevision seriesSeiZyuu Sentai GingaMan (translated as Star Beasts Task Force GingaMan). This is the first Power Rangers series to not be a continuation of the previous series, with its own new cast and story. With the annual suit change that began with Power Rangers Zeo and the annual cast and story change starting with this series, this is the first series to follow the practice set by the Super Sentai series.
In the fictional universe of Lost Galaxy, five teens from the space colony, Terra Venture, are seeking for a new world like Earth. They later find five mystical swords on a jungle planet called Mirinoi that transform them into Power Rangers, and use them to battle space villains from two different parts of the galaxy.
Even though the Japanese show Gingaman (which LostGalaxy was based on) took place on Earth while LG took place on a Space Station that looked like a metropolis from inside it still showed that PowerRangers has finally grew up.
But now LostGalaxy shows that the characters do deal with trauma and personal struggles like the loss of a brother (one of the storylines that matched with Gingaman), and even the heroes don't quite make it.
One example was Pink GalaxyRanger Kendrix Morgan who gave her life to save Pink Space Ranger Cassie in the crossover episode.
